One million dollar grant for South Orange park/river

riverdrawOne million dollars was awarded to improve the ongoing greenway area around the Rahway River in South Orange.   Bike paths and many other improvements will be on the way. The grant is believed to be one of the largest single grants ever received by the Village. Awarded under the NJDOT FY 2014 Transportation Alternatives Program,  the money will fund the construction of approximately 3,600 linear feet of a pedestrian path and bikeway, which will connect the southern border of the Village at Chyzowych Field in Maplewood to Third Street near the South Orange train station in the Village center.
